Ecocert is a global leader in organic certification and is well known in the industry for upholding the strictest standard for cosmetic organic certification. This independent accreditation means our business is meticulously audited to validate all raw materials, formulations, packaging and our manufacturing according to their strict standard for safety and organic standards. Each one of these areas gets assessed against a very strict set of criteria to ensure that you, the customer, are getting a product of a specific standard, and that we, the producer is adhering to all the conditions of their certification.

Products that are certified organic are accompanied by the Ecocert logo.

ECOCERT inspects and certifies all ingredients (local and imported) and processes with the following criteria:

  • Farming practices (soil conditions, fertilisers and insecticides); Sustainability (growing and harvesting protocols).

  • Product Development (formulations, INCI codes, and permitted ingredient use).

  • Extraction (certifying the processing and extraction of the active ingredients); Certification and license of the manufacturing laboratory; Sales (inspection and licensing of the distributor).

  • Packaging and labeling certification according to approved packaging. Certificates of approval and audit inspection for compliance.

ORGANIC STANDARD

ECOCERT’S COSMOS ORGANIC STANDARD GUARANTEES THAT:

  • At least 95% of the physically processed agro-ingredients must be organic
  • At least 20% of the total product must be organic (10% for rinse-off products)


ECOCERT’S ORGANIC COSMETIC STANDARD GUARANTEES THAT:

  • At least 95% of the total ingredients are from natural origin (water included).
  • At least 10% of the total ingredients are from organic farming (water included).
  • At least 95% of the total plant-based ingredients are organic.

PROHIBITED INGREDIENTS

The standards ensure that many ingredients are excluded, such as products of petrochemical origin such as paraffin or silicone, ethoxylated or glycolated products (PEG, etc.) and the majority of synthetic preservatives including formaldehyde releasing ingredients, parabens and phenoxyethanol.
